2008! Yikes!

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Well, It’s been quite some time since my last post. Ages and ages. Heh, I’d pretty much forgotten about it until one of my awesome friends, Beth, came to visit during the week and she remarked to me that it had been far too long since I’d updated my blog. So here you go Beth - my updated blog! :P

Oh, Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe it’s 2008! :O Wow. And to think it’s already nearly February in 2008. Blimey.

Well, it’s school holidays! Yay! But they’re nearly over now… And do you know what that means? 5 more sleeps until Jill goes to school…eeek! Lol.

These school holidays have been pretty awesome. I haven’t done a great deal, just mainly been bumming around on the computer, chatting on msn and MySpace to friends, catching up and visiting friends that I hadn’t seen for ages, I went to a party/dinner thingy, actually going to another party this weekend, been doing a bit of cello practice and little bit of music theory. But the holidays have been really nice and enjoyable. It’s been nice to have nothing to do seeing as very, very shortly I’m going to be tearing my hair out with the amount of school work I’m going to have and preparing for my AmusA on cello. So having nothing much to do has been awesome.

Heh, one thing I’ve missed these holidays though is sleeping in. I haven’t really got to sleep in these holidays. Which is sort of sad because I always usually sleep in during the holidays. But because I’m going to have to be getting up early for school Mum’s been waking us up nice and early so that we’re used to it by the time term comes around. She comes in with a high pitched voice saying “Wakey, wakey, time to get up!!!”. And then proceeds to shove various things up Jeremy’s t-shirt to try and wake him up. Because those of you who know Jeremy well, he sleeps like a log and nothing wakes him up in the morning unless you pretty much drag him out of bed. Haha. So a couple of mornings I awoke to Mum in hysterics, laughing at Jeremy and telling he looked like a tortoise because she’d shoved a tissue box up his shirt in a desperate attempt to wake him. Oh dear. Crazy much?!?!

Ooh. Do you know what else I did these holidays? I went to PY Summer Camp!!!!!!! It was sooo awesome! I met so many new, awesome people! And it’s really quite sad that most likely I won’t see those people again till the next camp I go to…I learnt lots and it was really encouraging to be around so many other Christian teens. We did some really crazy, fun activites. And my study group was the best! Go the Hulk!!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!! hehe. Everyone in my study group was really nice and so awesome and I’m so glad to have been in the group with those people. Heh, and in all our free time at camp I played poker. Yes, I know, poker at a religious camp! Shocking I know haha! It’s ok - we played for fun, not money, so don’t worry. :D But yeah, Me, my sister, a couple of my friends from church and then a few randoms that we met on camp sort of formed a poker playing group so in every break we had, we’d all be there playing poker. Awesome fun. But I do have to admit, by the end of the week, I was sort of sick of poker, lol. Heh, by the end of the week at Summer Camp I didn’t want to come home yet! Purely because I won’t get to see people again till next camp, and that’s pretty sad. Anyway, Summer Camp was so much fun, and I would really love to come again next time.

I don’t know that I really have much more to write. Hopefully I’ll be writing again in this blog sooner than it took me to get around to writing this time. Anyway, I shall leave you all now.

Bye bye :P

The. Dog. Gets. Car. Sick.

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Right now I’m about to fall asleep. We’ve been away for the weekend (well actually Friday to Sunday). We stayed at the grandparents in Tuross Head.

Well we got up on Friday morning having packed all our bags the night before. Well, except for Dad who never packs anything till the last minute. So yeah. We got up. Had brekky. And the usual. Anyway, Dad had a fantastic idea during the week which consisted of buying a bike rack to put on the back of the car so he could take bikes down to Grandma and Grandpa’s. So anyway, I distinctly remember Dad saying the night before we left, “Can you all please try and get an early night tonight because we need to get up early tomorrow to leave for Grandma and Grandpa’s. And I don’t want to be leaving at a ridiculous time of 12:00 or something, ok?” So that is what he said last night. However, in the morning Dad had to put this bike rack on the back of the car didn’t he. Well, it took him forever to try and get the tow ball off. Actually he couldn’t get it off himself so he actually had to go visit one of our neighbours who had some tool that eventually enabled Dad to get the tow ball off. So after that was off he then had to put the rack on. Hehe, and then…the bikes had to go on. And oh what fun that was. It took about 2 hours to get the bikes on. Try fitting 4 adult size mountain bikes on a bike rack. Very hard. And then after they were on, the pod had to be put on top of the car and the suitcases and sleeping bags and all the other paraphernalia had to be loaded into it. And once all that was stuffed in the pod, the pod lid had to be shut. And as Dad was shutting it, the lid jammed. And it took forever to unjam it.

So, by the time we left home it was about 12:00 or 12:30. Hahahahaha. So, fat chance of us arriving at the grandparents for lunch. :-)

So, the 6 Visser’s plus the dog, a.k.a. Ella, set off finally. Had lunch in Goulburn at KFC, much to Dad’s fancy. Not. He really doesn’t like fast food at all. But anyway, we had KFC. Then all was good.

Until…

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this in my blog before. But. The. dog. gets. car. sick. Yes. So you can guess what happened. As we were descending down the mountain, the mountain with the very winding roads (yes, I have forgotten the name of the mountain so you can all just pretend you know what I’m talking about, ok?) Ella threw up. She was in the back of the car. And basically, it went all over the back of the car. Oh joy. So Dad pulled over on the side of the road. Then he realised that in order to clean up the lovely mess, he needed to open the boot of the car. Hahahahaha. And remember everyone - the bike rack is on the back of the car, isn’t it? And the back door of the car can’t be opened when the bike rack is on, can it? So basically that is when we all felt like committing suicide when we discovered that the bikes that had taken painstaking hours to put on, now needed to be taken off. Ok, I exaggerated. We didn’t feel like committing suicide. I just added that for something dramatic. But it was jolly annoying all the same. So the bikes got taken off. Dog sick got cleaned up. Haha. Then bikes had to be put back on. So after about 45 mins we were back on the road again. It actually didn’t take as long to put the bikes on the second time round. But still…

Then we arrived eventually at Tuross Head.

Now, before I say anything else about this wonderful trip I would just like to say that I have had about 5 more blog views since my last post! Yewwwwwwww!!!

So, on Saturday morning Dad, Camille, Alec and I decided to go on a bike ride with the wonderful bikes that caused so much chaos yesterday. We went for a ride along the bike track which goes along the beach. Then Dad decided to go back via the road rather than the bike track. And the road is very hilly. Like very. So we basically got to ride 5km/h the whole way back coz most of it was uphill. Not good. Hehe, nah it was ok.

Then the rest of the time was pretty normal.

Sunday arvo we had to leave. We fed Ella very early on in the morning so that hopefully by the time we left she wouldn’t have any food left in her stomach to throw up. Well, that was the theory anyway.

So we packed the car. And hooray, the bikes didn’t take that long to load on the bike rack and the lid of the pod didn’t get jammed either this time!

Then we left. We stopped on the way in a little town called Mogo - coolest town ever. Full of souvenir shops with the most awesome jewelery and the like. I bought myself a bracelet.

And guess what colour the bracelet is?

Hmmm….wouldn’t be…

RED

?

No, never…

By the way, I was being sarcastic for those of you that couldn’t tell. The bracelet is red.

Anyway after shopping at Mogo for a short time we headed on. Half hour down the road… Ella. Threw. Up. Uh-huh. NOOOOOOOOOOO. How ever, she was more considerate this time and threw up in a position that didn’t involve having to unload all the bikes from the rack. So 10 mins later we were on the road.

We stopped at Maccas in Goulburn for dinner. And got home about 7:30. Or maybe 8:00. I don’t remember.

And basically that was my weekend.
