The. Dog. Gets. Car. Sick.

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Right now I’m about to fall asleep. We’ve been away for the weekend (well actually Friday to Sunday). We stayed at the grandparents in Tuross Head.

Well we got up on Friday morning having packed all our bags the night before. Well, except for Dad who never packs anything till the last minute. So yeah. We got up. Had brekky. And the usual. Anyway, Dad had a fantastic idea during the week which consisted of buying a bike rack to put on the back of the car so he could take bikes down to Grandma and Grandpa’s. So anyway, I distinctly remember Dad saying the night before we left, “Can you all please try and get an early night tonight because we need to get up early tomorrow to leave for Grandma and Grandpa’s. And I don’t want to be leaving at a ridiculous time of 12:00 or something, ok?” So that is what he said last night. However, in the morning Dad had to put this bike rack on the back of the car didn’t he. Well, it took him forever to try and get the tow ball off. Actually he couldn’t get it off himself so he actually had to go visit one of our neighbours who had some tool that eventually enabled Dad to get the tow ball off. So after that was off he then had to put the rack on. Hehe, and then…the bikes had to go on. And oh what fun that was. It took about 2 hours to get the bikes on. Try fitting 4 adult size mountain bikes on a bike rack. Very hard. And then after they were on, the pod had to be put on top of the car and the suitcases and sleeping bags and all the other paraphernalia had to be loaded into it. And once all that was stuffed in the pod, the pod lid had to be shut. And as Dad was shutting it, the lid jammed. And it took forever to unjam it.

So, by the time we left home it was about 12:00 or 12:30. Hahahahaha. So, fat chance of us arriving at the grandparents for lunch. :-)

So, the 6 Visser’s plus the dog, a.k.a. Ella, set off finally. Had lunch in Goulburn at KFC, much to Dad’s fancy. Not. He really doesn’t like fast food at all. But anyway, we had KFC. Then all was good.

Until…

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this in my blog before. But. The. dog. gets. car. sick. Yes. So you can guess what happened. As we were descending down the mountain, the mountain with the very winding roads (yes, I have forgotten the name of the mountain so you can all just pretend you know what I’m talking about, ok?) Ella threw up. She was in the back of the car. And basically, it went all over the back of the car. Oh joy. So Dad pulled over on the side of the road. Then he realised that in order to clean up the lovely mess, he needed to open the boot of the car. Hahahahaha. And remember everyone - the bike rack is on the back of the car, isn’t it? And the back door of the car can’t be opened when the bike rack is on, can it? So basically that is when we all felt like committing suicide when we discovered that the bikes that had taken painstaking hours to put on, now needed to be taken off. Ok, I exaggerated. We didn’t feel like committing suicide. I just added that for something dramatic. But it was jolly annoying all the same. So the bikes got taken off. Dog sick got cleaned up. Haha. Then bikes had to be put back on. So after about 45 mins we were back on the road again. It actually didn’t take as long to put the bikes on the second time round. But still…

Then we arrived eventually at Tuross Head.

Now, before I say anything else about this wonderful trip I would just like to say that I have had about 5 more blog views since my last post! Yewwwwwwww!!!

So, on Saturday morning Dad, Camille, Alec and I decided to go on a bike ride with the wonderful bikes that caused so much chaos yesterday. We went for a ride along the bike track which goes along the beach. Then Dad decided to go back via the road rather than the bike track. And the road is very hilly. Like very. So we basically got to ride 5km/h the whole way back coz most of it was uphill. Not good. Hehe, nah it was ok.

Then the rest of the time was pretty normal.

Sunday arvo we had to leave. We fed Ella very early on in the morning so that hopefully by the time we left she wouldn’t have any food left in her stomach to throw up. Well, that was the theory anyway.

So we packed the car. And hooray, the bikes didn’t take that long to load on the bike rack and the lid of the pod didn’t get jammed either this time!

Then we left. We stopped on the way in a little town called Mogo - coolest town ever. Full of souvenir shops with the most awesome jewelery and the like. I bought myself a bracelet.

And guess what colour the bracelet is?

Hmmm….wouldn’t be…

RED

?

No, never…

By the way, I was being sarcastic for those of you that couldn’t tell. The bracelet is red.

Anyway after shopping at Mogo for a short time we headed on. Half hour down the road… Ella. Threw. Up. Uh-huh. NOOOOOOOOOOO. How ever, she was more considerate this time and threw up in a position that didn’t involve having to unload all the bikes from the rack. So 10 mins later we were on the road.

We stopped at Maccas in Goulburn for dinner. And got home about 7:30. Or maybe 8:00. I don’t remember.

And basically that was my weekend.

Annoyed and aggravated is me.

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Ok, so I am really, really annoyed and aggravated. I sat down at the computer yesterday to write a blog entry. I wrote out an entire, yes ENTIRE blog entry. Then I clicked the publish button only to discover that the internet had dropped out somewhere in the beginning of my blog entry, so therefore I lost the contents of my entire blog entry. So now you all know the reason of my annoyance and aggravation. So now my mission is to rewrite yesterday’s blog entry. I would have rewritten it earlier but I just couldn’t face it after spending so much time only to have it zipped away into nothing.

Well, I can officially say that me writing my blog is pretty much completely and utterly useless. Why? Because I was interested in finding out whether anyone actually read this blog. So I got Jeremy to put a blog stats page on for me so I can track how many views I get. I don’t know whether that was a good idea or not to put the blog stats page up. It’s really quite depressing. Well, not depressing. Just, well, sad and pathetic. I have only had 4 blog views in the last 2 weeks. How bloomin’ pathetic is that? So actually, I don’t even know why I am writing a blog entry at the moment because I know I am only getting about 2 blog views a week. Hehe.

Well, I guess I shall write about my weekend, seeing as there is nothing else to write about.

Saturday…The Grandparents came and visited all day. They left about 6:00 and I madly rushed to get our dinner on the go because we needed to head out for youth group. After a very rushed dinner we left for youth group, stopping at Mittagong on the way to pick up Peter who was wanting to come to youth group too. For youth group we played “Genius”. Basically a whole heap of optical illusions, and all sorts of questions to be answered. And I sucked. Really badly. My score at the end was only 53. Which was pretty much one of the lowest scores out of the whole group. But hey, I don’t mind - I had fun anyway. Heh, and then I got to drive home from youth group. It all went pretty well till I had to do one of those damn hill starts. And I literally stalled about 10 times. Actually no, it was about 7. Alec counted for me. And he loves to keep reminding me of those 7 stalls that I did. Thank you Alec. Hehe.

Then Sunday, church at Canyonleigh. I drove to and back from church. Was good. I only stalled 3 times when I had to do a hill start hahaha. Come on, 3 is an improvement from the 7 the night before. Then basically bludged for the rest of the day after we got home from church. And had way too much caffeine. I had a real espresso coffee (yummy :) ) followed straight away by an entire can of coca-cola. Hmm, maybe that’s why I didn’t get to sleep till really late. Heh, nah just kidding. The reason I didn’t get to sleep till really late is because I was listening to the radio on my mp3 player till midnight. Then at midnight I thought I might be a good idea to maybe try and get to sleep.

Well, today has been fairly uneventful. I made cheese scones for Camille and I for lunch. So yum. Seriously. And I ate way too many of them. But I don’t care. I hardly ever make them and they were just too nice.

OK bye everyone, have to go now. Oh wait. What people? That’s right, I’d momentarily forgotten that no one reads this blog. So let me try that again. OK bye nobody, have to go now. Lol.
