Scholarships…

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Hello again. Actually, I doubt anyone reads this blog so that would theoretically mean that I am saying hello to no one. How sad.

Anyway, life…I spent all yesterday in Wollongong. I auditioned for the Wollongong Conservatorium String Scholarship. I was all completely relaxed when I arrived, unpacked, had a warm up etc. Then the moment I walked in to the audition room and sat down, nerves came rushing upon me. Why? I don’t know. I wasn’t stressed or worried about it or anything, at least I don’t think so. And I was just playing for two really nice old people. So why did I get nervous? So jolly annoying. So basically I played really feral because I was so damn nervous. I played the same pieces that I played for an audition for a school scholarship last month. And I played sooo much better at the school audition. So I’m a bit annoyed at myself for letting my nerves getting the better of me. But I’m not that worried about the scholarship. If I don’t get a scholarship (of which I am 99.9% sure I won’t get), I don’t really mind at all. I’m just annoyed because I know I could’ve played so much better.

But, speaking of scholarships…I received a letter  in the mail yesterday from Oxley College where I did the school audition for. They. Have. Given. Me. A. Full. 100%. Scholarship. For. Year 11 and 12!!!!! Can you believe it? No, neither can I. I think I am still in shock that they have actually accepted me and have given me a full scholarship because a lot of the time they only give out part scholarships. So it’s quite exciting but extremely scary at the same time as well. In the past it’s always been “I might be going to school”. Now it’s pretty much I’m definitely going to school. So yeah, quite a scary thought. But awesomely awesome at the same time. (Yes, there I go again using the words “awesomely awesome”.)

Anyway, back to the subject of yesterday. So played at scholarship at the conservatorium. Then the brother, Jeremy had a bassoon lesson because he has his AmusA exam on Saturday. Whilst that was going on, one of my awesomely awesome friends, Tiffany who went for the string scholarship as well, hung around and we talked. Then we all went to her Dad’s Chinese restaurant for lunch. Was lots of fun, but very naughty of Tiffany and her parents because they hardly charged us anything at all for the lunch. Then Tiff invited us back to her place for the arvo because we had a few hours to kill before having to go back to the conservatorium for Jeremy to have a rehearsal with his pianist for his bassoon exam on Saturday. So back at Tiffany’s place we watched anime all afternoon. Quite funny because there’s this anime called “Nodame Cantabile”. It is seriously cool because it’s all about a music conservatorium in Japan. And basically, to sum it all up, there’s a guy who’s doing a degree at this conservatorium, and he wants to be a conductor. And yeah. It’s really quite funny.

And yeah. Why did we not live in Wollongong? Seriously. Why? We spend half our life down there, we spend so much time traveling to and from Wollongong…so much easier if we lived there. However we don’t…and there’s not much we can do about it, so I really should stop complaining.

So yeah, that’s basically what happened yesterday. The rest of the week was pretty boring and didn’t do much.

Today…

OK, so I take it the administrator of this blog (a.k.a. the brother) doesn’t particularly like my blog seeing as all other blogs on sunriseroad.net are featured on the home page, and well mine isn’t. Is my blog perhaps an embarrassment to his website? Hehe, perhaps it is :P.

So today I did what? I don’t know, the days seem to go too quickly these days. Remember the good old days when you used to think the days went for ages and ages, and it took soooo long for Christmas and birthdays etc to come around? Anyway, today…I did some OTEN. And I updated all the album artwork in my music library on the computer. Why? Who knows. And then…I did some cello practice. But didn’t get much done. Unfortunately. Then the Griffith’s came for piano lessons, so I got to watch the crazy twin boys while piano lessons were going on. Oh yes, and I did some recorder practice at some stage during the day.

Hmm…I wonder if anyone has read my awesomely awesome (*cough cough) blog yet. Haha, if they have they were probably put off from ever reading it again. It is pretty shocking. And incredibly boring. Maybe I should stop writing in this blog until I actually have something vaguely interesting to write. That could be an idea.

Alright, to close off - here is a link to an addictive game.

It’s pretty cool. Rather discouraging though when you read the comments on the game and find some people that complete the entire game in like, 2 hours….and then there’s me, I’m no where near finished. So basically - I must suck completely at the game. But it’s still cool.

And, here is another cool site.

It is another time waster. But it’s pretty awesome once you figure out how to use it.

Anyway…bye for now. Until I have something more interesting to blog about.

Ahhh! Sunshine!

Ok, so the last couple of days have pretty much sucked. Seriously. Firstly, on Saturday I had to stay home from a youth group outing just because Mum organised for BarkBusters to come to our place to help train our dog Ella. Grrr. I was really looking forward to youth group. It was a trip to Sydney for the day and to go visit the bookstore Koorong. So yeah, BarkBusters sucked. Not because they were useless or anything, they just sucked because the entire time they were here I was thinking “Hmmm I could be at Koorong right this minute…”.

And today, well I’ve just been tired, grumpy, and haven’t felt like doing anything. And yeah, today pretty much sucked as well.

But. The only cool thing about the last few days has been how awesomely awesome the weather has been. Spring is finally in the air! Yewwww!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo sick of damn winter because, well, I hate winter. Winter sucks. Give me summer any day. Or spring. Or maybe even autumn. But winter…no thanks. So I have immensely been enjoying the amazing blue sky and the warm sunshine. It’s been something to look forward to every morning when I wake up. Haha, seriously, my first thought in the morning, pretty much every morning of the year, I think to myself straight away as soon as my eyes open, “Is it sunny today?”. Heh, I love my sunny, warm days, hence the title of this blog entry - “Ahhh! Sunshine!”.

Well, this hasn’t exactly been the most enlightening of blog entries…but too bad - it’s what you’ve got. You’ve got a blog entry that basically says, “such and such sucked on this day, such and such a thing sucks, this sucks, that sucks, and then there’s my rant on how much I like sunny days”. That basically sums it all up.
